The PFH Private University of Applied Sciences and the technology consulting firm Sperlich GmbH from Göttingen intensified their cooperation with the establishment of the "Institute for the Synchronization of Technology-Based Cooperation, Innovation and Education Processes" (SKIB) the end of February 2008. Within the next three years, 15 experts will be hired for the areas of research / process analysis, consulting and education management. Both founding partners are providing a starting budget of 100,000 Euro each. The institute will be headed by Manfred Sperlich and Prof. Dr. Bernt R. A. Sierke.
SKIB is allocated in one of the most prominent fields of management and organizational development: Competitive advantages and the growth of the German economy always depend on how fast, efficiently and cost-effectively technological innovations can be made into marketable products. In the future, SKIB will be researching innovation processes from science and business: Success factors and hindrances will be systematically disclosed, indications for cooperation ability developed and qualification needs for implementation into production will be forecasted.
A team of three that includes engineers and economists will first carry out interdisciplinary work on analysis tools that can be applied to different innovation processes. Work in Berlin will focus on sustainable dialogs between business, science and politics. Sperlich and Sierke, the Institute heads, are planning regular forums for interchange between central organizations of the industry, Federal Ministries for the Economy and for Science and Research and leading institutions in technology research. Sperlich GmbH and PFH have been cooperating successfully since 2003, as with the establishment of CFRP study courses in Stade.
