Bahn Semester Ticket for Campus Göttingen Students

As of Winter Semester 2018/19, all students enrolled in campus study programmes of PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen will receive the so-called Bahnsemesterticket.

The ticket applies for most train connections in Lower Saxony and some routes in northern Hesse. To use the ticket students will be required to show their student card along with the supplementary "Semesterticket" sheet. Please note that the ticket may not be used for ICE/IC trains of the Deutsche Bahn.

No, the student identification card must always be presented together with the accompanying Semester Ticket sheet.

In general, the rail operators will demand an “increased transportation fee”. This can be avoided under some circumstances, provided you present your Semester Ticket before a certain deadline.

Tip: speak to train staff quickly and proactively when boarding the train.

No, students will not receive a Semester Ticket during a holiday semester.

No, the PFH Semester Ticket is not valid for busses.

No, journeys in IC or ICE trains of Deutsche Bahn are subject to regular tickets, which must be purchased from Deutsche Bahn.

No, bicycle transportation is not included in the rail Semester Ticket. The cost of transporting a bicycle must be paid additionally.

Children under 6 years of age may travel free of charge according to the General Transportation Conditions of Deutsche Bahn AG. This also applies if the traveller starts their journey using their Semester Ticket.
